local host again

A few minutes ago my internet security system block an intrusion attempt by the "local host." Quite some time ago when I attempted to post to an ABA forum on electronic surveillance I received a message that I was "nuked by local host" and unable to post. I never got a straight answer from the ABA's tech people. The ABA then discontinued that forum. Hmmm, I wonder why the "local host" would be interested in me?
